The award is presented by the AIAA NCS to recognize an AIAA NCS Council or AIAA NCS Committee member who has demonstrated a commitment to advancing the goals of the Section for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education.

Laurel, Maryland [February 3, 2025]—Capitol Technology University and Fire Rockets have signed a memorandum of understanding agreement to promote awareness of STEM disciplines, education, and career opportunities in the aerospace arena. Robin Houston, co-founder and Executive Director of Fire Rockets, visited with Capitol Tech leadership President Bradford L. Sims, Vice President of Cyber Science Outreach and Partnerships Dr. Bill Butler, and Director of Astronautical and Space Engineering Programs Jeff Volosin to discuss the exciting ways in which this partnership could expand space education awareness and opportunities to the broader community. By leveraging shared resources, exchanging knowledge, and fostering collaboration, Capitol Tech and Fire Rockets’ collective expertise will provide our local youth with a strong foundation in this innovative and exciting field.
In recognition of the rocketry program's success in 2024, NARHAMS, the oldest continuously operating section of the NAR, presented Robin and Charis Houston with the F.R.O.G (For Rocketeers Of Greatness) award. It is intended as a formal recognition of individuals whose accomplishments are singular. F.R.O.G. Award Qualification Considerations: Eligible candidates must have performed truly sterling accomplishments that set them above the pack of other outstanding individuals. These accomplishments must qualify as milestones for the club, the Association, or the hobby.

July 1-8 2023--FIRE Rocket students bring home gold, silver, and bronze! Five Fire rocketeers were selected to the US Junior Space Modeling Team for the 2023 World Games. Competing against several nations, Camille is the World Reigning Champ in the Streamer Event, Ike is the Women's Silver Medalist in Scale, and Ike, Zuri, and Randall are three of a four-person team winning Bronze in the Scale event. September 9, 2022-- Vice President Harris Announces Commitments to Inspire, Prepare, and Employ the Space Workforce.
